We are seeking for a Management Accountant who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the business's current accounts, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, monitoring financial performance, and supporting management with insightful analysis and reporting. This role is critical to ensuring sound financial governance and efficient management of day-to-day financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee and maintain current accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and financial performance reports.
  • Reconcile all current accounts and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis with commentary.
  • Identify areas of cost efficiency and revenue optimization.

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor daily cash movements within current accounts.
  • Forecast short-term and long-term cash requirements.
  • Manage payments, deposits, and bank reconciliations.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support both internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable financial records.

Business Support

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support decision- making.
  • Liaise with departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency in operations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (BCom Accounting preferred).
  • CIMA / SAIPA / SAICA qualification (or in progress) advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in management accounting or financial analysis.
  • MUST HAVE collections experience, non-negotiable
  • Strong understanding of current accounts management and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
