Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join a high-growth mining company at a pivotal stage of transformation. As the business transitions into a dual-mine producer while completing a major acquisition, this role plays a key part in building the financial reporting foundation to support that growth. This position sits at the center of the corporate finance function, helping translate complex, cross-border operations into clear and accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will contribute directly to consolidation, external reporting, and M&A integration while strengthening coordination between corporate headquarters and field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consolidation of corporate and subsidiary financial results
  • Prepare initial drafts of financial statements and MD&A for leadership review
  • Support external reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data from operations
  • Provide technical accounting guidance across the organization
  • Support acquisition accounting, including purchase price allocation and integration activities
  • Partner with operations finance teams to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Lead the corporate budgeting process and maintain forecasts
  • Deliver budget-to-actual analysis and variance reporting
  • Assist with corporate tax filings and cross-border tax planning initiatives
  • Support treasury activities including cash management and capital planning
  • Oversee corporate accounting processes at a supervisory level
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance across operations
  • Act as the primary liaison between corporate and operations finance teams
  • Supervise and support one direct report in accounts payable

Requirements

  • CPA designation or equivalent
  • 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Mining industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and technical accounting
  • Experience working in lean teams with hands-on responsibility
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate financial disclosures and reports
  • Exposure to M&A accounting is an asset
  • Familiarity with cross-border operations or tax structures is an asset
  • Spanish language skills are beneficial but not required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Remuneration

  • Competitive salary with benefits, including:
  • Base salary of approximately $120,000, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus target of 15 to 20 percent
