About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager for our established client in the DoD industry for over 40 years. This role is responsible for supporting new product development initiatives while providing technical oversight across multiple projects. The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support architectural development and ensure that each component integrates seamlessly within the broader system. Key responsibilities also include conducting technical reviews, particularly in circuit layout and design, to ensure quality, performance, and alignment with overall engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of senior and junior electrical engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Manage performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career development for team members.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new engineering staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for electrical engineering initiatives, aligning with overall company objectives and growth strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology adoption, and innovation to enhance electrical engineering capabilities and project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the resolution of complex electrical engineering challenges and design issues.
  • Review and approve electrical engineering schematics, layouts, component selection, calculations, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Document and implement best practices in electrical engineering design.
  • Promote effective communication and teamwork within the electrical engineering department and across the organization.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing electrical engineering knowledge to the writing of proposals, white papers, responding to RFIs, and participating in proposal reviews.
  • Work closely with Program Managers to establish technical work breakdown structure for electrical engineering tasks on development programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical engineering matters, both internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Generate and present technical briefings to company staff and customers when requested.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for product development and process improvement efforts.

Education Requirements

  • BS in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline

Required Experience

  • 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with circuit design/board layout and managing a team of engineers

Required Skills

  • Experience using Altium for circuit design and board layout
  • Experience using Spice (or similar technology) for circuit simulation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with high speed, high density interconnects
  • Excellent understanding of signal integrity

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • 5 days per week on-site
