Demcon Focal is a high-tech development and engineering partner with a deep-seated fascination for light, precision, and advanced imaging systems. We specialize in realizing custom optomechatronic and vision systems, supporting our clients from the initial concept through to final assembly. By integrating optics, optomechanics, and software into coherent and robust solutions, we enable technological progress in the most demanding applications. We build on our extensive and fundamental knowledge of the properties of light.

What will you do?

As Manager Engineering, you are the face of the department and have a key role in the company. With your energetic and entrepreneurial attitude, you will take our department to a higher level and contribute to the further growth of Demcon Focal.

Your main task is to develop the talent within our team. You help our employees grow by offering them challenging projects and by coaching and training them. You ensure that the competencies within your team are guaranteed.

In addition, you ensure the right facilities and work on setting up and improving work methods. Our department is strategically developing to meet the needs of the current and future market. For this, you maintain a network with other Demcon companies and regional partners, such as the University of Twente, Saxion, and relevant professional organizations.

In addition to developing, coaching, and assessing your team members, you also have operational tasks. You assign employees to projects and closely monitor their contributions. You are responsible for the quality and efficiency of your team's work in the projects.

What do you bring?

• Completed technical WO education with an affinity for physics and in particular optics;
• Several years of experience with developing systems from concept to realization;
• You are an inspiring personality and a people manager, with a natural drive for continuous improvement of operational processes
• Strong communication skills at all levels (team, client, and internal);
• You are a bridge-builder, between people, departments, and projects;
• You recognize yourself in the DEMCON core values: involved, customer-oriented, and collaboration;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages in word and writing.
