Stryker is seeking an engineering leader to manage an engineering team that provides direct support to the Stryker Mahwah business and works closely with the Development and New Product Introduction teams. The Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership to the operations team, with a strong focus on developing engineering competencies, driving best practices, and improving the efficiency and cost effectiveness of production processes. The role will also support medium and long term operations strategies to ensure strong operational performance. This is an onsite position in Mahwah, NJ.
What you will do
- Responsible and accountable for the development of the best engineering strategy to deliver the Operational objectives of the Mahwah business
- Work in harmony with the Operations manager, Advanced Operations and Quality leaders to provide leadership and a consistent focus on product and process quality
- Lead a team of assigned engineers and other functional professionals to deliver specific project objectives which support the operations strategy
- Develop and complete IDP’s and performance reviews with assigned engineers to provide structured development opportunities to improve performance and engagement
- Liaise with other function leaders where appropriate to ensure the engineering teams comply with and support cross functional best practice in GMP’s, GDP’s, Finance Processes, Compliance Initiatives and EHS Requirements
- Engage and participate in supporting the delivery of the BU’s KPI’s by continuously improving the performance of the business by providing technical solutions to operational issues
- Support all capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation as required
- Deliver process development and cost reduction activities on specific projects that you and your team are assigned
What you need
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
8+ years of relevant engineering experience required
Previous leadership/ people management experience required
Experience working in a CNC machining environment
Proven experience in Lean Tools/Methodology, highly preferred
Experience applying Lean tools and methodologies, highly preferred
Experience with GD&T, highly preferred
Compensation
$141,600 - $236,000 USD Annual
