DePuy Synthes Supply Chain is recruiting for a MANAGER – External Manufacturing Supply Integration (EMSI) to support Enabling Tech platform. We are open to consider the role to be based at any one of our DePuy Synthes sites, with preference for the following countries – United States and Switzerland.
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Responsibilities
- Oversee a footprint of External Manufacturers supporting Enabling Tech platform to deliver business process improvements, analytics and insights, risk management, supplier development, best in class lead time and process from purchasing to goods receipt, NPI launch readiness
- Foster and advance relationships within the DPS franchise to ensure that each EM’s operational capabilities, including risk profile, meets the objectives and priorities of the different value streams
- Manage medical device supply performance that includes service, supplier performance and relationship, planning, inventory, capacity, quality, compliance, cost optimization
- Lead the resolution of supply short term issues and the implementation of proactive risk mitigation activities for finished goods manufacturing, in collaboration with the supplier and internal support functions (R&D, Quality, Plan, technical operations, regulatory)
- Identify, execute and monitor continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of agility, reliability and cost reduction (leadtime reduction, network change, source transfer, Kanban agreement)
- Lead S&OP meetings with all required internal and external partners for mid to long-term synchronization of supply and demand
- Make decisions for supplier capability and oversee prioritization and execution of supplier change requirements (new equipment validation, site extension) with all required functions, in alignment with Value Stream Leadership
- Support New Product Launch while monitoring supplier capability through scenario planning approach
- Partner with Source Category Management to ensure the sourcing strategy for supplier sites are developed and implemented
- Manage, coach, and develop a small team of professional level associates
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a Business-related field of study, Supply Chain, Logistics Sciences or Engineering field is required
- A minimum of 6 years of direct experience within Supplier Relationship Management, Planning, or Manufacturing Operations, preferably within the medical device industry is required
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally is required
- Demonstrated track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing direct reports is required
- Strong written and oral communication, influencing, and negotiation skills are required
- The ability to develop data and leverage metrics and analytics to generate insights for continuous improvement is required
- The ability to work independently and with urgency in a globally matrixed environment is required
