Your responsibilities
- Lead and manage month end, quarter end, and year end close processes; review and approve journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with ASPE/IFRS, internal policies, and AFC governance; collaborate on complex transactions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, variance analyses; present to executives and auditors.
- Maintain general ledger integrity across entities; ensure timely intercompany reconciliation.
- Partner with Manager, Transactional Accounting for subledger integration and reconciliation.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to audit standards; monitor aging, clearing, suspense, and intercompany accounts.
- Strengthen internal controls by identifying discrepancies, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Oversee inventory and rotable asset accounting, depreciation, and variance/aging analysis.
- Lead, mentor, and develop general accounting team; delegate, set priorities, and ensure deadlines and quality.
- Foster collaborative, accountable, solutions-oriented team culture; manage workload peaks and capability building.
- Serve as primary contact for audits; prepare schedules, working papers, and documentation.
- Establish and enhance internal controls, process documentation, IA narratives; lead SOP/Policy development.
- Lead initiatives to streamline and automate processes; enhance ERP and support system utilization.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success
- University Degree in Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
- CPA designation.
- Minimum seven years progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Profound knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and MS Office Suite, strong Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
