Your responsibilities

  • Lead and manage month end, quarter end, and year end close processes; review and approve journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE/IFRS, internal policies, and AFC governance; collaborate on complex transactions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, variance analyses; present to executives and auditors.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity across entities; ensure timely intercompany reconciliation.
  • Partner with Manager, Transactional Accounting for subledger integration and reconciliation.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to audit standards; monitor aging, clearing, suspense, and intercompany accounts.
  • Strengthen internal controls by identifying discrepancies, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee inventory and rotable asset accounting, depreciation, and variance/aging analysis.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop general accounting team; delegate, set priorities, and ensure deadlines and quality.
  • Foster collaborative, accountable, solutions-oriented team culture; manage workload peaks and capability building.
  • Serve as primary contact for audits; prepare schedules, working papers, and documentation.
  • Establish and enhance internal controls, process documentation, IA narratives; lead SOP/Policy development.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and automate processes; enhance ERP and support system utilization.

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success

  • University Degree in Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum seven years progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Profound knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and MS Office Suite, strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
