About the role
Sun Life is seeking a strategic marketing manager to support the growth of our global brand across omnichannel marketing initiatives. This role manages Sun Life’s global social media presence and tracks the performance of brand marketing investments to drive awareness, engagement, and positive brand perception. Reporting to the Director, Marketing Strategy and Growth, you will help shape brand marketing strategy, lead social media planning and delivery across global channels, and deliver clear insights on campaign performance and ROI. You will work closely with regional marketing teams to ensure consistent brand execution and identify opportunities to optimize impact. This role is well-suited to a fast learner and versatile marketer who thrives at the intersection of brand storytelling, media strategy, and data‑driven optimization, and who is comfortable navigating and stewarding a trusted global brand within a complex, matrixed organization.
What will you do?
Global Marketing
- Track and report global marketing fund allocations and campaign progress with business group teams
- Contribute data‑driven insights in cross‑functional forums to support consistent global brand execution
- Identify brand and corporate storytelling opportunities, with a focus on social media
- Plan and manage content across Sun Life’s primary social channels using enterprise platforms
- Ensure consistent, high‑quality application of the Sun Life brand across regions
- Brief internal and external partners to deliver channel‑appropriate, audience‑led marketing
Performance, Insights & Growth
- Analyze brand performance and marketing effectiveness to inform investment decisions
- Track and report ROI and key performance metrics for executive audiences
- Monitor competitive activity and social trends; surface actionable insights
- Recommend optimization opportunities based on performance and social listening
- Ensure all social content meets legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Partner with Corporate Communications on reputation management and corporate initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
- 4 to 6+ years of experience in brand, growth, or digital marketing roles
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Experience managing marketing budgets and performance tracking
- Drive project initiatives from conception through successful completion, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across owned, paid, and video‑led marketing channels
- Strong ability to synthesize data into clear, executive ready insights
- Comfort working cross functionally in large, matrixed organizations
- Solid understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, and KPIs (especially LinkedIn and Instagram)
- Hands on experience with enterprise social media management tools
- As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French‑speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Compensation
- Salary Range: 80,000/80 000 - 128,000/128 000
- The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
- In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
