Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the assessment, intervention, and delivery of services to children and families.
- Support, facilitate, and continuously improve program services in alignment with Head Start Board and Policy Council–approved policies.
- Lead program planning, organization, staffing, and daily operations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of staff, including annual formal and regular informal performance reviews.
- Maintain appropriate program staffing structures, always including compliance with required adult–child ratios.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate EHS and HS home and center-based policies and procedures, recommending updates as needed.
- Design and oversee technical assistance, training, and professional development plans based on identified staff and program needs.
- Manage fiscal operations, budgeting, statistical data, and reporting in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure implementation of Headstart performance standards and integration of multicultural principles into program practices.
- Collaborate with internal leadership teams and community partners to support comprehensive services, outreach, recruitment, and family engagement.
- Fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities and intervene in the prevention of child abuse and neglect, in accordance with federal and state law.
