About

As the Manager of Project Controls, you will play a critical role in overseeing project control teams responsible for establishing and maintaining cost and schedule baselines for a range of projects, from moderately complex to highly complex.

Responsibilities

Status Updating/Forecasting

  • Lead the development of cost controls, procedures, and forecasting methods to accurately assess project/program status.
  • Ensure compliance with government and internal regulations.
  • Gather project progress data from managers and teams for ongoing updates and monitoring.
  • Evaluate financial analyses, including variance and risk assessments.
  • Document project changes and their impact on cost and schedule.

Project Planning

  • Develop and document planning objectives and milestones for complex projects.
  • Maintain and analyze integrated critical path schedules.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to project managers on project controls systems.

Progress Reporting

  • Compile enterprise-level reports for performance analysis and visibility.
  • Prepare client and internal status updates to communicate financial statuses and project trends.
  • Supervise project control staff and ensure adherence to company policies.

Technical Oversight

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Oversee junior project controllers, ensuring their growth and development.

Project Records Management

  • Utilize document management protocols for effective project documentation storage and retrieval.

Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 20 years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate degree with 17 years of experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 14 years of experience.
  • Certification as a Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) is required within the first 12 months of employment or promotion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project controls/scheduling in the heavy industrial sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of Primavera.
