About the role
Position Summary
The Manager of Student Recruitment (IT Programs) is responsible for developing and executing strategic recruitment initiatives to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students into the college’s Information Technology programs. This role is directly accountable for achieving enrollment targets and for managing the full recruitment pipeline to meet or exceed the department goals. The Manager will also build, lead, and scale a high-performing recruitment team.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies focused on IT programs (e.g., cybersecurity, software development, data analytics, network administration).
- Own and deliver on assigned enrollment targets, ensuring strategies are aligned to achieve or exceed goals.
- Translate department targets into actionable recruitment plans, forecasts, and team-level quotas.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and enrollment data to continuously optimize performance.
Lead Generation & Outreach
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Outreach departments to design and execute integrated lead generation strategies.
- Partner with Marketing to develop and optimize digital campaigns (social media, email, SEO/SEM, paid advertising) that generate high-quality leads aligned with enrollment targets.
- Work with the Outreach team to coordinate in-person recruitment efforts, including high school visits, community engagement, and events.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all recruitment channels.
- Build and actively manage a pipeline of prospective students sufficient to consistently meet conversion and enrollment goals.
- Ensure IT Programs representation at career fairs, information sessions, and community events.
- Track and analyze lead sources and campaign effectiveness, making real-time adjustments to ensure target attainment.
Partnership Development
- Develop partnerships with tech companies, workforce agencies, and community organizations to drive measurable enrollment growth.
- Build relationships with guidance counselors, employment agencies, and newcomer/immigrant-serving organizations to generate qualified leads.
- Ensure partnerships contribute directly to pipeline volume and enrollment outcomes.
Admissions Funnel Management
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle: inquiry → application → enrollment, with full accountability for results at each stage.
- Monitor and optimize conversion rates across the funnel to ensure targets are met.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions quickly to prevent shortfalls.
- Ensure consistent, timely follow-up with prospects to maximize enrollment outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, hire, and onboard a high-performing student recruitment team to support enrollment goals for IT programs.
- Set clear individual and team quotas and hold staff accountable for achieving them.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance against targets and take corrective action as needed.
- Coach and mentor team members to improve conversion performance and productivity.
- Foster a high-performance, target-driven culture with clear expectations and accountability.
- Plan staffing levels based on enrollment targets and growth projections.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Track, report, and be accountable for all recruitment KPIs and enrollment outcomes.
- Provide regular performance updates, including risks, gaps, and action plans to meet targets.
- Use data insights to continuously refine strategies and improve results.
- Present performance reports to senior leadership with clear accountability for outcomes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or sales.
- Demonstrated success in consistently meeting or exceeding aggressive targets.
- Proven experience in hiring, building, and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience in IT or technical program recruitment is an asset.
