An established and growing Canadian fashion retailer, supported by a thriving e-commerce platform and emerging wholesale channel, is seeking a Managing Director – Canada to lead the next chapter of growth. Following more than a decade of founder-led development, the organization is ready to transition day-to-day leadership to an experienced retail executive who can scale operations, drive sales performance, and elevate a heritage brand positioned in the affordable luxury segment. Reporting directly to ownership, the Managing Director will oversee national retail operations, omnichannel strategy, and financial performance, while continuing to strengthen a culture built on team-based selling, product pride, and exceptional service. Over time, you will play a critical role in positioning the brand for long-term expansion in Canada and globally.
Description
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a 2–5 year sales growth strategy, including store network optimization, selective retail expansion, and continued integration of e-commerce and wholesale channels.
Operational Excellence
- Lead daily operations across all retail locations and support functions, ensuring consistent standards in visual merchandising, inventory management, asset protection, and operational efficiency.
Financial Stewardship
- Assume full P&L accountability, driving revenue growth while optimizing margins, inventory productivity, and operating performance across the organization.
Elevating the Client Experience
- Refine and lead the sales floor retail strategy, ensuring customers experience consistent, luxury-level service across physical stores and digital channels.
Talent Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing retail leadership and store support team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and sales excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of retail management experience, preferably overseeing multiple locations
- Proven success driving sales, KPIs, and profitability
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory, and payroll
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high-performing store management teams
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel regularly within the district
