About
As a Manual Tester, you will be responsible for verifying software functionality, usability, and performance through detailed test planning and execution. You will work closely with business analysts, developers, and QA leads to understand requirements and translate them into detailed test cases. Your responsibilities will include executing test cases manually, identifying bugs, and ensuring that issues are logged, tracked, and closed within defined timelines. You will participate in test planning, test data setup, reviews, and defect triaging meetings. Additionally, you will support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure software meets business expectations before release.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify software functionality, usability, and performance through detailed test planning and execution.
- Translate requirements into detailed test cases.
- Execute test cases manually and identify bugs.
- Log, track, and close issues within defined timelines.
- Participate in test planning, test data setup, reviews, and defect triaging meetings.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure software meets business expectations.
Qualifications Required
- 5-10 years of experience in manual testing of web, desktop, or mobile applications.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and documentation skills.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Agile or Waterfall environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in writing test scenarios, test cases, and test data preparation.
- Experience using test management tools like JIRA, Zephyr, TestLink, or HP ALM.
- Basic knowledge of SQL to validate backend data.
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools and clear defect reporting practices.
- Very good knowledge of Database.
- Ability to perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Knowledge of Sales Journey, Banking/SF.
Good to Have Skills
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
- Exposure to API testing using Postman or Swagger.
- Basic understanding of automation tools like Selenium (for growth into hybrid roles).
- Experience working in BFSI, healthcare, e-commerce, or telecom domains.
- Knowledge of accessibility and usability testing principles.
