The Manufacturing Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the manufacturing department. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, familiarity with ERP systems, and effective communication skills to collaborate with the sales, operations, and the office of the controller. The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for order processing, managing ERP‑related project transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
The Manufacturing Accountant role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating collaboration between departments, and contributing to the overall financial success of the manufacturing division.
As a Manufacturing Accountant you will be expected to support accounting and ERP related functions. Including completing gross margin analyses of PTI’s products and revenue streams, preparing and reporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly on production KPI’s, support month‑end closing and inventory management, working with IT departments for system issues, and use available tools to help with cost decisions on production. Your responsibilities include maintenance and development of production, purchasing, shipping and receiving processes. Specifically supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, documentation and accuracy and validity of inventory numbers.
Role Description
- Be the primary resource for all ERP related solutions and concerns.
- Ensure company operates within ERP system with precision and accuracy.
- Execute and monitor all financial transactions related to manufacturing projects within the ERP system.
- Reconcile project transactions regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with the operations department to track project costs and expenses.
- Prepare regular financial reports related to manufacturing projects.
- Report weekly and monthly on production, purchasing, warranty and profit KPI’s.
- Execute on monthly R&D cost compilation and closeout for P&L.
- Assist in the preparation of month‑end and year‑end financial statements.
- Collaborate with the office of the controller to address any discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the sales and operations departments.
- Provide financial insights to support decision‑making in sales and operations.
- Provide input on developing standards and procedures related to project matters.

Skills and Qualifications
- 3‑5 Years Experience in Accounting
- Familiarity with a manufacturing environment as it relates to inventory, BOM’s, routers, job costing and cost tracking
- Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills
- Understanding and proof of executing via GAAP
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in financial or technical field
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams)
- Excellent communicator both verbally and written
- Highly detail oriented
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent problem solving skills
