We are looking to fill an opening for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager based onsite at our Alexandria, MN location. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements and systems to measure, reduce cost, increase quality and efficiency of production processes, and sustain cost‑effective strategies through lean production methods and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to support production objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products or reduce costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and create corrective action plans in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Develop and document manufacturing systems and processes, standard work procedures for new manufacturing processes, and engineering procedures.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost‑effectiveness.
  • Train production personnel in new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing, assembly, equipment maintenance, and fabrication.
  • Assist in the design for manufacture of a product’s components and review product designs for manufacturability or completeness.
  • Provide estimates for costs, production times, or staffing requirements for manufacturing new product designs.
  • Define and maintain routings, work cells, manufacturing BOM structures, and ensure data integrity in the ERP system.
  • Manage and support Programming, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering, or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
  • 5 + years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with hydraulic manifold manufacturing preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing and quality control.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with mechanical design principles.
  • Ability to develop, read, and comprehend complex mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with quality control methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, QFD, TQM, 8D, and root‑cause failure analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience generating and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Dynamics.
