About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II with a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering and non-IT project management. The ideal candidate will have successfully transitioned from an engineering role into project/program management and possess hands-on experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
This role is responsible for managing small to large-scale projects through the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful execution within scope, budget, and timeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of single or multiple cross-functional projects.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource plans.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and status reports.
- Coordinate with business leaders, sponsors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project communications, executive updates, and stakeholder presentations.
- Resolve issues and remove roadblocks to keep projects on track.
- Provide project management guidance and mentor junior team members.
- Support implementation of new or existing products/services involving multiple departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of project/program management experience.
- Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Experience managing projects in a regulated or quality-driven environment.
- Proficiency in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience transitioning from Manufacturing Engineering to Project Management.
- Experience in medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
Additional Information
- This is not an IT Project Manager role.
- Candidates with software/infrastructure-only PM backgrounds may not be considered.
- Strong manufacturing operations and engineering program leadership experience is highly preferred.
