Role Overview
Ferme Marine de Mahebourg (FMM), the leading offshore aquaculture company in Mauritius, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager Europe to support its expansion across European markets.
FMM operates in the lagoon of Mahébourg, protected by a natural coral reef, providing exceptionally clean and stable water conditions. The company produces premium red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and international standards.
With an annual production of approximately 3,000 tonnes, FMM supplies both local and international markets, delivering whole fish and fillets by airfreight to ensure optimal freshness. The company is also expanding its frozen range, a key growth driver to unlock new markets and scale volumes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of clients across Europe (importers, distributors, HORECA)
- Identify new market opportunities and actively drive business development
- Achieve and exceed sales targets within assigned territories
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
- Conduct market research to monitor trends, pricing, and competition
- Manage client inquiries, quotations, and follow-ups
- Ensure structured and persistent follow-up to convert opportunities into sales
- Coordinate closely with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless deliveries
- Promote FMM’s premium positioning and product differentiation
- Represent the company at international trade shows and industry events
- Leverage LinkedIn and other digital channels to identify prospects, engage decision-makers, and maintain consistent follow-up through social selling
Profile & Qualifications
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset
- Proven track record in sales, ideally in seafood, food distribution, or FMCG
- Good understanding of European seafood markets is a strong advantage
- Comfortable with social selling including LinkedIn outreach, digital prospecting, and follow-up discipline
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote, international environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
- Experience with CRM systems is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
