About the Internship
Fisher Phillips offers a highly structured, hands-on Marketing & Business Development Internship designed to provide graduate and undergraduate students with comprehensive exposure to legal marketing, business development strategy, and professional services communications.
This is not a coffee and copies internship. You will work on real projects, collaborate directly with senior marketing professionals and department leadership, and gain experience across eight specialized teams that collectively drive the firm's growth, brand, and market position.
Interns rotate through two primary team tracks — a Weekly Track (one-week deep dives) and a Bi-Weekly Track (two-week immersions for more complex disciplines) to ensure both breadth and depth of experience. At the conclusion of the program, interns present a capstone project to team leadership.
This internship is designed to serve as a pipeline for full-time roles in legal marketing and professional services business development. High-performing interns are given priority consideration for full-time positions upon graduation.
What You'll Experience
Over the course of your internship, you will gain hands-on experience in:
- Developing and executing marketing strategies for a large professional services firm
- Supporting business development activities including pitch preparation and client research
- Writing and editing client-facing communications and content
- Managing social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns
- Conducting competitive intelligence and market analytics
- Assisting with proposal development and RFP responses
- Learning legal technology platforms used in marketing and CRM
- Collaborating with marketing & business development teams on real client initiatives

Your rotation will span all eight teams within the Marketing & Business Development department:

Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program (rising junior, senior, or graduate student preferred)
- Major or concentration in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Law, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Genuine interest in marketing, business development, or the legal/professional services industry
Preferred
- Prior internship experience in marketing, communications, or business development
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, InterAction, or similar)
- Experience with social media management (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)
- Basic understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, or digital marketing concepts
- Exposure to graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Strong research and analytical skills with experience in data interpretation
- Prior work or academic exposure to the legal industry

Rotation Structure
The internship is divided into two track types designed to maximize learning at the appropriate depth for each discipline.
Weekly Track Teams (1-Week Rotations)
Teams on the Weekly Track offer focused, project-based immersions where you will complete defined deliverables each week. These teams move quickly and provide high-volume exposure to real-world work.

Bi-Weekly Track Teams (2-Week Rotations)
Teams on the Bi-Weekly Track involve more complex, strategic work that benefits from deeper engagement. Two weeks allows you to see projects through from briefing to completion and understand the full workflow.

Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $23.84 - $28.90. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
