About the role
About
emap is a leading UK B2B media group with over 400 staff and 40 specialist brands. It connects professionals through high‑quality content and industry‑leading events. Every month its brands - ranging from Nursing Times and Construction News - deliver news, analysis and digital products across print, web, podcasts and newsletters. emap’s events portfolio attracts over 60,000 attendees annually, across awards, conferences, webinars, festivals and round tables, offering networking and professional development opportunities.
Are you an ambitious marketer looking to develop a career in the professional B2B sector? We are looking for two focused and energetic Marketing Executives to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to drive campaigns for a diverse portfolio of events - ranging from exclusive, 100-person C-suite conferences to major black-tie industry awards ceremonies hosting over 1,300 delegates at iconic venues like the Grosvenor House Hotel.
While the highlights of the year involve being on-site at these prestigious locations, the core of this role is rooted in strategic campaign execution. You will spend the majority of your time in the office, taking ownership of multi-channel marketing plans that reach senior decision-makers across the construction, healthcare, and local government sectors.
Competencies and Personal Specifications
- Marketing foundation: A degree or early-career experience (internships or projects) in marketing, communications, or a related field. You should have a clear interest in how B2B brands engage their audiences.
- Professional communication: Excellent written and verbal skills are essential. You will be expected to draft professional copy for emails and social media that resonates with senior business leaders. You’ll get support from the team but will have autonomy in your campaigns.
- Organisational excellence: Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaign timelines and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. You may have 6 to 8 events at any one time so will need to know what to focus on and when.
- Collaborative approach: The ability to work professionally across different departments, including sales, event production, and data teams, to ensure project alignment.
- Technical aptitude: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). While not essential, experience with - or a strong desire to learn - B2B tools such as Adestra, Canva, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Looker Studio, and Hootsuite is a significant advantage.
- A results-oriented mindset: A proactive approach to problem-solving and a "growth mindset" - you are someone who takes feedback constructively and looks for ways to improve campaign performance.
- Composure: You remain calm and resourceful under pressure, particularly during the final countdown to a major event or awards ceremony.
Education/Qualifications
- Degree in marketing, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in digital and/or event marketing through internships, university projects or junior roles is strongly preferred.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with an eye for detail and design.
- Ability to analyse data, track campaign metrics and present findings clearly.
Personal Attributes
- Collaborative team player.
- Ideas and target driven.
- Analytical with the ability to read and interpret data.
- Innovative and creative.
- Extremely well organised with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload effectively meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships cross functionally, and at all levels.
