About Our Client
Our client is a destination retail business offering a unique and immersive shopping experience across multiple departments, including seasonal merchandise, apparel, specialty goods, and curated in-store experiences. With a large retail footprint and a strong reputation for quality, hospitality, and creativity, the focus is on delivering an engaging environment that inspires customers year-round.
What You Will Do:
Marketing Strategy and Campaign Planning
- Build and manage the annual marketing calendar for promotions, seasonal campaigns, events, launches, and store initiatives.
- Lead planning for major campaign seasons, including Spring, Fall, Christmas, and other key retail moments.
- Work with ownership, leadership, buyers, department managers, and store teams to turn business priorities into clear marketing plans.
- Help grow customer traffic and expand company reach, including opportunities to attract shoppers from the Raleigh and Triangle market.
Brand Management and Creative Direction
- Help define, protect, and consistently apply company brand voice and visual identity.
- Make sure signage, social media, email, website content, advertising, and in-store messaging feel polished, consistent, and true to the company experience.
- Develop or oversee templates, brand standards, messaging guidelines, and seasonal campaign themes.
- Bring a strong eye for layout, storytelling, photography, and presentation.
Digital, Email, Website, and Social Media
- Oversee the email and newsletter calendar, including content planning, promotions, subject lines, timing, and performance review.
- Guide social media strategy and content planning across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Coordinate photo and video needs for seasonal campaigns, products, events, and in-store experiences.
- Keep website content current, including promotions, events, store hours, seasonal pages, and customer information.
- Monitor digital engagement, website activity, email performance, customer feedback, and other practical marketing indicators.
Advertising, Events, and Community Promotion
- Coordinate traditional advertising, local print, billboards, digital opportunities, and community partnerships.
- Support major events and traffic-driving promotions, including seasonal launches.
- Help evaluate marketing spend and channel mix so the company is investing in the right places.
- Build and maintain relationships with media partners, vendors, influencers, and community contacts as needed.
In-House Print Production and Signage Workflow
- Oversee the marketing department’s print and signage workflow in partnership with the print production team.
- Help prioritize print requests, campaign signage, event collateral, store graphics, and promotional materials.
- Set clear request deadlines, proofing steps, approval standards, and production timelines.
Budget, Reporting, and Team Leadership
- Help manage and track the marketing budget, including advertising, supplies, tools, print materials, and labor planning.
- Report marketing activity, campaign performance, traffic trends, and resource needs to leadership.
- Support and coordinate team members working in social media, web, email, content, and print production.
What We Are Looking For:
- 3 to 5+ years of B2C marketing experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, garden center, home decor, fashion, events, or another destination-based business.
- Experience planning seasonal campaigns, promotions, or a marketing calendar.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to help define and consistently apply a brand voice across multiple channels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience with social media content planning, email marketing, website updates, and campaign coordination.
- A strong eye for design, photography, visual presentation, and brand consistency.
- Ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities during busy seasons.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, email marketing platforms, website CMS tools, social scheduling platforms, Excel, Google Sheets, or project management systems.
This Role Is a Great Fit If You Want To:
- Own and shape a full marketing program, not just one channel.
- Lead seasonal campaigns that drive real customer excitement and traffic.
- Work closely with leadership and have a voice in business decisions.
- Bring structure, clarity, and creativity to a growing marketing function.
- See your work come to life across in-store, digital, and community channels.
