This position serves as a strategic partner to business teams, providing deep understanding of consumer behaviors and experiences through comprehensive research and analysis. The role combines analytical rigor with business acumen to transform data into actionable insights that drive corporate marketing priorities. Working closely with senior leadership, this individual will manage the full lifecycle of research projects, from identifying business questions to delivering compelling recommendations. The position requires expertise in both primary and secondary research methodologies, strong vendor management capabilities, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, story-driven presentations that influence decision-making across multiple functional areas.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional business teams to analyze consumer usage patterns and behaviors throughout the customer experience journey
- Manage research projects aligned with corporate marketing priorities in collaboration with senior leadership
- Gather, analyze, and interpret consumer data to support strategic planning and tactical execution across teams
- Develop comprehensive trend reports on key corporate marketing initiatives
- Analyze CRM dashboards to enhance the quality and effectiveness of customer relationship management programs
- Generate weekly social listening reports tracking brand and competitor performance
- Leverage secondary and syndicated research sources to address business challenges and opportunities
- Conduct primary research including qualitative methods such as focus groups, ethnographies, and interviews, as well as quantitative studies including brand health tracking, concept testing, and usage studies
- Develop detailed research briefs that outline business issues, learning objectives, and action standards with stakeholder alignment
- Determine and recommend optimal research methodologies based on business questions and objectives
- Manage vendor selection through comprehensive RFP processes and multi-vendor proposal reviews
- Negotiate pricing with research vendors and manage internal financial approval processes
- Oversee all phases of research projects including design, sampling, questionnaire development, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting
- Ensure data accuracy and quality throughout all research studies
- Analyze and interpret data using Excel and create clear, insightful visualizations and presentations
- Deliver actionable recommendations through compelling, story-driven presentations that address all research objectives within required timelines
- Evaluate vendor performance to ensure clear goals, quality deliverables, and high return on investment
Skills
- Strong business acumen with ability to probe deeply into business issues and provide meaningful recommendations
- Confident engagement and communication with stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership
- Comprehensive knowledge of research methodologies including both quantitative and qualitative techniques
- Expertise in primary research design and execution
- Experience with syndicated research sources such as Nielsen and NPD
- Superior consumer insights development and research analysis capabilities
- Excellent project management abilities with minimal supervision required
- Strong interpersonal communication, engagement, and influencing skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for conveying insights and recommended actions
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint for creating charts and comprehensive presentation decks
- Strong Excel skills for data review, calculation, and analysis
- Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualization tools
- Vendor management and evaluation capabilities
- High confidence with proactive, positive attitude and go-getter mentality
- Strong bias for action with sense of urgency and results orientation
- Ability to work productively under high time pressure situations
- Capability to cultivate collaborative working relationships across internal and external organizations
Experience
- Five to eight years of experience in market research, marketing, trade marketing, product management, sales, or related field
- Demonstrated experience analyzing consumer data and providing insights that drive business decisions
- Proven expertise in research methods and statistics
- Mix of client-side and agency-side research experience
- Experience synthesizing secondary research and providing strategic perspectives
- Background in electronics or mobile industry research strongly preferred, or consumer packaged goods research experience required
- E-commerce experience preferred
- Experience managing research projects independently with ability to produce excellent results and analyses
- Capability to run independent research using DIY tools preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, product management, sales, or related field required
- Master's degree in business administration, marketing, product management, sales, or related field preferred
