About
A marketing professional specialized in a specific practice area within marketing and communications, supporting the shared services function of the Marketing and Communications department. This role leads day-to-day execution of a defined workstream such as creative services, social media, digital marketing, internal communications, content creation, public relations, or marketing operations. It contributes to planning, building, and optimizing initiatives with increasing independence, collaborating across teams, managing vendor partners, and using data to make decisions.
Job Duties
- Mastery of specialization: operates independently, selects techniques and tools, anticipates pitfalls, maintains quality, adapts to changes, partners with specialists, produces templates and checklists, balances creativity and practicality.
- Cross-functional collaboration: manages projects proactively, coordinates inputs, runs working sessions, follows up, identifies interdependencies, negotiates trade offs, creates shared assets, surfaces risks early, builds credibility.
- Message development and storytelling: crafts narratives tailored to audience and channel, ensures message consistency, uses data and feedback to refine, adapts storytelling techniques, balances brevity and substance.
- Creativity and innovation: develops ideas based on insight and objectives, identifies new approaches, partners to prototype ideas, uses testing to de-risk, encourages sharing, maintains high standards.
- Channel optimization: tunes timing, targeting, creative formats, SEO, UX, budget; runs tests; tracks results; documents learnings; coordinates channels; partners with analytics; builds guides; maintains backlog.
- Financial stewardship: manages budget, forecasts spend, monitors variances, compares vendor quotes, negotiates savings, reduces waste, provides updates and warnings, designs scopes, builds calculators.
- ROI and impact: defines KPIs and targets, builds dashboards, analyzes performance, recommends optimizations, balances quick wins and learning, partners on attribution, communicates performance, ensures measurement plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Writing, Audio Video Production, Digital Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing communications, advertising, or related setting.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Proficiency with specialized software in area of focus (social publishing platforms, design/editing, CMS, CRM, DAM).
- Familiarity with analytics tools and dashboards (channel analytics, web analytics, campaign reports).
- Ability to use project management systems to track tasks, timelines, workflows.
- Proficiency with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) for content generation, research, or workflow automation.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent objectives, projects, schedules, or activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework, knowledge, or experience with enterprise business sectors (health, higher education, insurance) helpful but not required.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs., frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use; patient care providers may perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
