Senior Digital Designer
Blender Media Inc.
About the role
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Digital Designer to step in during a maternity leave and support ongoing client work across website design, digital branding, and investor‑focused communications. This role is hands‑on and fast‑paced, requiring someone who can confidently take ownership of projects, collaborate with internal teams, and deliver thoughtful, high‑quality design solutions with minimal oversight. Much of our work involves translating complex, often technical or data‑heavy information into clear, engaging digital experiences—so comfort working with structured content is key.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design of responsive websites from concept through to handoff (Figma → dev‑ready)
- Create clean, modern UI systems and page layouts aligned with brand and business goals
- Translate complex information into clear, engaging digital experiences (often data‑heavy / corporate content)
- Work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to meet deadlines and maintain project scope
- Iterate on designs based on feedback while maintaining design integrity
- Contribute to and refine internal processes, templates, and component libraries
- Design investor presentations in PowerPoint, balancing clarity, hierarchy, and visual polish
- Develop and apply brand systems across collateral, including business cards, stationery, and conference banners
- Design and develop brand identities, including logos, colour palettes, and typography systems, for new and existing clients
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in digital / UI/UX design
- Strong portfolio of website work (bonus if in corporate, finance, or data‑heavy industries)
- Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, systems thinking)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Comfortable working within a structured design process (wireframe → design → refinement)
- Solid understanding of responsive design and front‑end constraints (HTML/CSS/Tailwind is a plus)
- Strong attention to typography, layout, and information hierarchy
- Strong communication skills and comfort presenting work to internal teams or clients
- Able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities without compromising quality or attention to detail, while confidently owning work end‑to‑end
- Working knowledge of AI tools and the ability to apply them thoughtfully to improve efficiency and support design workflows
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for investor relations, corporate, or B2B websites
- Experience collaborating directly with developers
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with basic video editing and/or web animation (e.g., motion graphics, micro‑interactions)
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Designs are thoughtful, consistent, and easy for developers to understand and implement
- You help keep projects moving forward and proactively unblock issues when they arise
- Clients and internal teams feel confident in your work
A Note on the Contract
This is a maternity leave contract role, with the potential for extension depending on team needs. Please include a portfolio showcasing your work. We’re especially interested in projects that demonstrate strong structure, clarity, and problem‑solving, not just visual style.
