As a Academy Match Analyst you will play a key part in supporting the development of elite academy players within the U16 to U19 age groups. Operating at the intersection of match analysis, player development, and coaching support, you will contribute to the holistic progression of young talents in a high-performance environment.
Through detailed video analysis, data-driven insights, and close collaboration with coaches, you will help translate the club’s playing philosophy into actionable development plans and tactical solutions. Your work will directly impact the individual growth of players during a crucial transition phase, preparing them for the demands of professional football.

Main Responsibilities
- Recording, coding, and video editing of training sessions, matches, and player sequences
- Oversee and organize individual development plans (IDP’s), ensuring they are regularly updated and effectively communicated to coaches and departments
- Development and presentation of tactical solutions for the coaching staff and relevant academy players in line with the club’s guidelines on development, training, and playing philosophy
- Presentation of video sequences in team and player-related meetings (e.g. match preparation, post-match review, individual analysis, player profiles)
- Data collection, analysis, and interpretation in the context of individual players, matches and training sessions
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements regarding the supervision of children and adolescents (e.g. duty of care, etc.)
- Adherence to all processes, requirements, and guidelines related to the operational running of the academy/youth development (e.g. RB card, traffic light system, RBL Youth Guideline, etc.)
- Creation of video sequences (e.g. highlight videos) and data on relevant players in the transition phase
Qualifications
- Completed university degree, preferably in match analysis or sports science, or at least 3 years of match analyst experience in an official performance center (or comparable)
- Strong affinity for tactically complex football concepts (e.g. abstract knowledge of team tactics)
- Job-specific qualifications (preferably further training with a focus on video/match analysis; at least a UEFA B coaching license or higher)
- Proficient in using football-specific software applications (Hudl, Sportscode, Icoda, Wyscout, GameOn, macOS)
- Strong pedagogical skills in working with young people
- Excellent analytical skills combined with a structured, independent, and detail-oriented working style
- You are characterized by strong team spirit and clear communication
- Structured working style with a high level of planning and organizational skills
- German and very good English skills, both written and spoken. French skills (optional)
