About
Our client is an EV charging equipment manufacturing company, and is seeking a qualified Materials Planner II to support field service parts planning and new product material readiness. This position is reported to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering / NA PL and plays a critical role in ensuring service material availability, inventory optimization, and customer support performance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and Purchase field service parts for key customers, partnering closely with customer service to minimize shortages while meeting service-level expectations.
- Manage and balance Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Including:
- Appropriately managing customer requests and setting clear expectations
- Ensure all part substitutions are properly communicated, documented, and approved by customers as required
- Identify when inventory Increases or decreases are needed
- Monitoring trends such as failure rates, recall events and demand shifts
- Review forecast and develop long-term field service materials to support field service and production needs
- Drive demand for field service or production materials when required
- Track production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends to proactively address supply risks.
- Perform E&O analysis and conduct E&O process through:
- Preparing well organized inventory analysis and supporting details to E& O meetings
- Prioritizing high-impact inventory items first
- Presenting key takeaways and actionable recommendations
- Managing inventory challenges including schedule changes, cancellations and material constraints as needed.
- Prepare and publish regular cost estimates, inventory reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) updates.
- Proactively escalate and resolve material challenges with both internal and external customers
- Regular interaction with key clients and respective counterparts. Requires a balance of being customer focused while still protecting the company’s best interest.
Qualifications / Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business or other related discipline
- Min. 4 years working experience in electronics manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly EXCEL and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple high priority and high-profile projects
- Self-motivated and able to execute independently when given clear goals and accountability.
- Strong collaboration skills, including experience with cross functional teams, often with remote colleagues using video conferencing and collaborative tools
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive resolution of material and inventory related issues.
