Mechanical Engineer – Production & Quality

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer – Production & Quality is responsible for overseeing the production process, implementing process improvements, and ensuring all products meet quality standards. This role requires a strong mechanical background, problem‑solving skills, and hands‑on experience in manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Collaborate with production staff to resolve technical issues and implement best practices
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
• Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and quality defects
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry regulations
• Perform inspections and quality checks at various stages of production
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams on quality‑related matters
• Support new product introductions and assist with prototype testing and evaluations
• Collect and analyze production and quality data to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 4–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards
• Familiarity with tools such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the metal fabrication, automotive, or heavy equipment industry
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
• Hands‑on experience with measuring tools and inspection equipment
