Mechanical Engineer(Gauteng)

Introduction

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to support new projects and to support ongoing operation of the plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing projects for new initiatives while also providing technical expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing existing equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on approach to plant support, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and training to the relevant project team members

• Reliability engineering, equipment and root cause analysis

• Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan • Implement projects and engineering designs

• Identify and implement modern engineering solutions.

• Plan, organize, lead and control work activities.

• Management of sub-contractors including their safety and quality of work

• Achieve and sustain equipment reliability levels to achieve OEE objectives.

• Implements and recommendations to policies and procedures

• Generates technical engineering documentation for procurement of goods or services

• Conducts technical review of designs and drawings

• Build and maintain relationships with the relevant stakeholders

• Assists with the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the relevant facilities and services

• Continuous improvement of the engineering department

• Monitoring and tracking of plant availability and other maintenance KPI’s

• Adheres to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures

Desired Experience & Qualification

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.Tech./B.Sc./B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering.

• Registered with the Engineering Counsel of South Africa (ECSA)

EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years relevant engineering and management experience.

• Detailed knowledge of CAD/related packages (SolidWorks, CATIA or Inventor) essential.

Knowledge ,Skills and Abilities

• Has a proven track record in the same or similar role

• Has a sound knowledge of multi – disciplinary engineering methodology and best practices

• Is proficient on a multitude of engineering software packages

• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and orally, to internal and external stakeholders
