Mechanical Engineering Associate

About the Role

This role supports construction execution and is involved with pre‑sales engineering work. Successful candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and have previous experience in HVAC design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC system analyses to support the sales and engineering processes.
• Develop concept‑level and mechanical room drawings using AutoCAD.
• Participate in proposal, design, and client meetings with technical and non‑technical teams.
• Enhance Excel-based engineering models used for system sizing and analysis.
• Prepare as‑built drawings, RFIs, and construction documentation aligned with original design.
• Coordinate with external designers to support geothermal system integration.
• Review mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural drawings for proper system coordination.
• Conduct site inspections related to mechanical room and HVAC installations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in HVAC system design, ideally in commercial or industrial settings.
• Proven experience producing construction and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical room layouts and HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of heat pumps and condenser water systems is an asset.
• Proficient in Excel for technical calculations and analysis.

• $80,000 per year
