Mechanical Engineering Manager – Industrial Refrigeration
An exciting opportunity has opened for a seasoned Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering department and take full technical ownership of complex industrial refrigeration projects. What You’ll Lead & Deliver
You will oversee the entire technical lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects — from proposal and design through to commissioning. You’ll guide a multidisciplinary team, uphold engineering standards, and ensure every project meets quality, safety, and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development • Lead and mentor mechanical engineers and draftspeople • Drive capability growth, performance, and professional development • Resolve internal conflicts and maintain a positive, high‑standards culture • Establish and refine departmental procedures, workflows, and training plans
Technical Ownership • Take full technical responsibility for awarded projects • Review specifications, perform heat load calculations, and validate system designs • Size and select refrigeration equipment based on industry best practices • Approve and release all technical documents and drawings • Champion AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit standardization • Develop innovative, cost‑effective engineering solutions
Cross‑Functional Collaboration • Work closely with project managers and electrical teams to define system functionality • Attend client and consultant meetings to clarify technical requirements • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, consultants, and external partners • Support senior leadership in implementing technical and operational guidelines
General Duties • Ensure timely delivery of drawings, submissions, and technical deliverables • Uphold professionalism, integrity, and departmental excellence • Perform additional duties as required by senior leadership
What You Bring • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, or equivalent • 10+ years in industrial refrigeration system design, including supervisory or managerial experience • Strong technical authority with excellent analytical and decision‑making skills • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management abilities • Highly organized, detail‑driven, and results‑oriented
