A growing and well-established manufacturing organization in the Raleigh, NC area is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role focused on improving equipment performance, driving efficiency, and supporting new product and automation initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, solving real-world problems, and making a measurable impact on production and cost.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems, components, and equipment
- Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives across production
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement long-term solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and engineering)
- Assist with new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production
- Optimize plant layouts, workflows, and equipment utilization
- Work with vendors and integrators on equipment upgrades and installations
- Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and SOPs
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems and equipment
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, CI, or process improvement methodologies
- Exposure to automation, robotics, or production equipment is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills (Not a Requirement)
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment or automated systems
- Background in plant layout, tooling, or equipment design
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean principles
