The Role
This is a site-based Mechanical QA/QC role on a live data centre project in Vienna, operating on a 10/4 fly-in fly-out rotation.
You’ll report to the QA Manager and work directly with project teams on site, ensuring mechanical installations are delivered in line with specifications, standards, and commissioning requirements not at the end, but throughout the build.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical inspections across all stages of installation (piping, HVAC, plant, systems)
- Ensure works are delivered in line with:
- Drawings, specifications, and ITPs
- Project quality plans and procedures
- Applicable codes and standards (e.g. ASME, ISO)
- Support the QA Manager in implementing the project Quality Management System (ISO 9001 aligned)
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure quality compliance on site
- Raise, track, and close out snags, NCRs, and quality observations
- Coordinate inspections with client representatives and consultants
- Support the development and management of test packs and mechanical completion documentation
- Participate in system walkdowns, tagging, and handover processes
- Assist with commissioning readiness and system validation
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation including:
- Inspection records
- Test results
- Material certifications
- Contribute to a “right first time” delivery approach, identifying issues early and preventing rework
- Liaise with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical issues via RFIs
- Support internal audits and ensure compliance with project QA procedures
What You’ll Bring
- Mechanical or Building Services qualification (or strong trade background with QA experience)
- Typically 3–5+ years’ experience in QA/QC within M&E or construction environments
- Proven experience on live construction sites (data centre experience highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of:
- Mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, plant installations)
- Inspection and test plans (ITPs)
- QA documentation and handover processes
- Experience with test packs, walkdowns, and mechanical completion
- Familiarity with QA systems and digital platforms (e.g. Procore, Eida or similar)
- Strong attention to detail with the confidence to challenge standards where required
- Ability to work closely with site teams and influence quality outcomes
