Position Overview

Provide technical and engineering support for the design and development of new and existing products. This role supports product quality, manufacturing, supply continuity, and cost improvement initiatives while contributing to innovation and cross-functional project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design and development activities for new and existing products
  • Contribute to product quality, manufacturing efficiency, supply continuity, and cost improvement
  • Participate in technical and cross-functional project work
  • Generate innovative concepts for new products and enhancements to existing products
  • Identify customer needs through literature review, interviews, observation, competitive analysis, and prototype evaluation
  • Translate customer needs into engineering requirements, product specifications, packaging, and processes
  • Develop robust, manufacturable products using engineering fundamentals
  • Develop and execute test methods, including:
    • Measurement equipment selection
    • Test setup and systems analysis
    • Data collection and analysis
  • Perform design verification testing and analysis
  • Prepare detailed technical reports for design and product development activities
  • Ensure compliance with company quality policies and all safety regulations (local, state, federal)

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical preferred)
  • 2–4 years of engineering experience (preferably in medical devices)
  • Proficiency with Mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks, CREO, ProE)
  • Experience with:
    • Concept development and fixture design using CAD
    • Sample titrations and processing samples using laboratory glassware and analytical balances
    • Biological specimen handling and basic chemistry (buffer preparation, pH adjustment)
    • Mechanical testing equipment (e.g., Instron)
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in applied biological sciences
  • Experience developing bioanalytical assays and test methods
  • Experience handling biological specimens, particularly human clinical samples

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize statistical tools and computer-based analysis
