Mechanical Technical Lead

Position Overview

TRP has a current vacancy for a Mechanical Technical Lead who will provide technical leadership for mechanical systems across a major rail transit infrastructure project delivered by Trillium Rail Partners (TRP). The role ensures mechanical systems are designed, coordinated, and delivered to support safe and efficient transit operations.

The Mechanical Technical Lead works closely with architectural, electrical, and systems engineering teams to coordinate building services and tunnel mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of mechanical systems including HVAC, tunnel ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, drainage, and pumping systems.
• Review and validate mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate interfaces between mechanical systems and architectural, electrical, and structural elements.
• Support constructability reviews and technical problem-solving during construction.
• Provide guidance on mechanical system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical workshops.
• Support testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Ontario.
• Experience delivering mechanical systems on major infrastructure or transit projects.
• Experience with tunnel ventilation, station mechanical systems, or large building services systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building systems and infrastructure integration
• Technical leadership and coordination abilities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
