About the role

Ralliant is on the lookout for a talented Microsoft 365 Power Platform Engineer to create and implement cutting-edge analytics solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and innovative AI-driven analytics strategies. In this key role, you will help build AI-ready data foundations that support Copilot experiences, enabling operationalization of analytics and insights across the organization in a secure, governed, and scalable way.

As the ideal candidate, you will blend exceptional BI engineering skills with a strong understanding of the importance of AI capabilities—including Copilot, semantic models, data quality, and governance—within well-designed data platforms. You'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, security, and platform teams to ensure data products are optimized for reporting, AI-driven insights, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform Engineering:

  • Design and implement Microsoft Fabric solutions that leverage Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Fabric capacities.
  • Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and modeling pipelines for analytics and self-service BI, as well as downstream AI applications.
  • Deploy standardized medallion-style data architectures (e.g., bronze/silver/gold) focused on strong data quality and observability.
  • Optimize Fabric workloads for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models for reuse and AI-readiness.
  • Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards with an emphasis on user experience and accessibility.
  • Utilize advanced DAX and Power Query (M) techniques for large model optimization and complex datasets.
  • Manage Power BI deployment pipelines and workspace strategies effectively.

AI Strategy Enablement:

  • Design AI-ready data models supporting Microsoft Copilot, natural language queries, and generative AI experiences.
  • Collaborate with architecture and AI teams to align Fabric and Power BI assets with organizational AI goals.
  • Curate, document, and govern datasets to ensure reliable AI outputs.
  • Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-driven insights into Power BI, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365 workflows.
  • Contribute to enterprise standards for responsible AI implementation, encompassing data quality, security, and transparency.

Power Platform & M365 Integration:

  • Create Power Apps and Power Automate flows that connect analytics insights to operational workflows.
  • Integrate solutions seamlessly with Microsoft 365 services for enhanced collaboration and automation.

Governance, Security & Operations:

  • Establish and maintain data security protocols and governance policies, including RLS and sensitivity labels.
  • Support Power BI and Fabric administration, focusing on capacity monitoring and audit logging.
  • Produce detailed documentation: solution architectures, semantic model definitions, AI usage guidelines, and operational runbooks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders during the solution development process.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in delivering BI or analytics solutions using Power BI and Microsoft data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or relevant experience transitioning from Power BI and Azure data services.
  • Proficient in dimensional data modeling and semantic layer design.
  • Expertise in DAX optimization and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of data governance and security principles.
  • Strong SQL expertise for effective querying and optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience in both Commercial and GCCH Microsoft environments.
  • Experience supporting AI-assisted analytics scenarios in Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Fabric capacity planning and monitoring.
  • Experience with Purview and data cataloging.
  • Proficiency in Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
