Mid -Junior Data Engineer - Hedge Fund

We are exclusively mandated by an important Asset Manager in Switzerland for a Junior Data Engineer role.

You will join a team in charge of applications & infrastructure including data management, analytics, portfolio and risk management. The chosen candidate will have a nice first experience in processing and manipulating data, developing scalable and performant data delivery systems, data APIs and platforms. We are looking for somebody at ease with Python software development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining stable data pipeline to support the trading desk and other business activities.
• Help in the onboarding and processing of interesting new data sets, working with developers, traders, and PMs across the group.
• Understand how to process data and the necessity of the data in the systems, analytics, and investment process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance.
• 2 to 4 years experience as a developer or data dev using Python, C# or Java/ C++
• Strong knowledge of the databases (SQL a plus)
• Preference for object-oriented programming concepts
• Strong knowledgfe of ETL/ELT tools (dagster, airflow, dbt, talend etc.)
• Experience with containerized applications. Experience with container orchestration tools is a plus (Swarm, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
