In this role, you will craft complex SQL queries, shape data for impactful dashboards, ensure data accuracy, and deliver reliable datasets that our stakeholders rely on daily. Collaborating with dashboard developers and application teams, you will provide clean, consistent, and user-friendly data for our mission users. Our core development team is based in Gaithersburg, MD, and we welcome onsite engineers in Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Aurora, CO; St. Louis, MO; and Tucson, AZ, offering you various pathways to be part of our mission.

Essential Responsibilities
- SQL Development: Craft intricate SQL queries using joins, aggregations, filtering, subqueries, and window functions to support our dashboards.
- Data Shaping for Visualization: Structure query outputs optimally for dashboard consumption, ensuring clarity in naming, grouping, and formatting.
- Dashboard Support: Partner with dashboard developers to define essential data for visualizations and reporting.
- Data Validation: Guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets used in dashboards.
- Query Performance: Identify and enhance inefficient queries to support responsive dashboards.
- Requirements Translation: Transform dashboard and reporting needs into effective SQL queries.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 4-8 years of experience; or a Master's with 2-6 years.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a Polygraph interview.
- Strong SQL skills, proficient in writing advanced queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions).
- Experience with enterprise-level relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.).
- Background in supporting analytics, dashboards, or reporting pipelines.
- Comfort working in Linux-based environments.
- Proven ability to independently tackle data-centric tasks while ensuring data quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with visualization tools like Grafana, Tableau, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
