Responsibilities
- Coordinate with various departments to conduct tests, ensure accurate readings, and take samples
- Assist the Mine Engineering Department with projects including rock mechanics, data collection and quality control, ventilation readings, analysis and instrumentation installs, mine production data analysis, geology, and rock bolt mapping
- Perform analysis and reporting; prepare samples for lab analysis and conduct analysis
- Provide engineering design, project, and construction management for maintenance‑related projects pertaining to the mine and site structures
- Work with the Continuous Improvement lead to identify bad actors and improve processes
- Actively participate in site safety programs
- Develop and upkeep site standards based on established design criteria, specifications, codes, and corporate standards
- Provide technical assistance to operations, maintenance, process, and capital groups to prioritize and resolve equipment operational and reliability challenges
- Investigate equipment failures and collaborate with site personnel to develop corrective actions and planned maintenance (PM) instructions and schedules
- Coordinate, schedule, and direct consultants and service providers in the evaluation, design, and construction of solutions
- Ensure proper instrumentation and equipment function
Requirements
- Degree in mechanical, electrical, process, civil, or related maintenance engineering discipline
- Experience in mining or a related industry with strong knowledge of industrial operations, process equipment, and maintenance procedures
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team player who can positively and productively implement assigned projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent results/goal orientation
- Pragmatic approach with strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills; able to write clearly and succinctly in various settings and styles
- Thorough attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment
- Strong computer skills, including maintenance and reliability software systems
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions
