Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related technical field.
  • Experience in software engineering for spacecraft operations, ground segment systems, mission control systems or other mission critical environments.
  • Experience with spacecraft monitoring and control, operational procedures, automation or operations preparation workflows.
  • Strong understanding of telemetry and telecommand concepts.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft monitoring and control, operational procedures, automation or operations preparation workflows.
  • Experience with software maintenance, anomaly investigation, debugging and corrective implementation.
  • Experience with Java, C/C++, scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, Awk), SQL or other common engineering software technologies.
  • Experience with requirements analysis, software design, integration, verification or validation.
  • Ability to work with controlled software baselines, configuration management and formal delivery processes.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering and operations teams.
  • Good written and spoken English

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and evolution of mission control and operations preparation software.
  • Analyse software anomalies, reproduce reported issues, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
  • Contribute to changes affecting telemetry, telecommand, event handling, command history, monitoring, automation and operational data flows.
  • Support software activities related to TM/TC database management, flight operations procedures and on-board control procedure preparation.
  • Contribute to requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, integration and verification activities.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including design notes, interface information, test material, release notes and user-facing documentation.
  • Support software deliveries through regression testing, acceptance testing and delivery checks.
  • Work with operations engineers, system engineers, software teams and customer representatives to clarify needs and resolve technical issues.
  • Support technical investigations during operational incidents, system upgrades or maintenance releases.
  • Contribute to the improvement of engineering processes, test coverage and maintainability of long-running operational software.
  • Support system configuration, validation and readiness activities for operational and pre-operational environments.
  • Participate in technical meetings, issue follow-up, risk tracking, progress reporting and stakeholder liaison activities.
