Field Service Technician (mechanical)

Purpose of the Role:

Provide on-site technical support, maintenance and repairs using a mobile service van, ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (required)
• 2+ years mechanical/technical experience
• Knowledge of tools, pumps, or hydraulics (advantageous)
• Valid Code 10/14 driver’s license with PDP
• Willing to travel extensively
• Able to work independently
• Physically fit (able to lift up to 35kg)
• Ability to engage effectively with customers and generate new business

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel to client sites for repairs, maintenance and calibration
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues
• Conduct cold calling and build customer relationships
• Provide on-site technical support
• Complete job cards and service reports
• Manage stock and tools in the vehicle
• Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance
• Follow company procedures and safety standards
• Meet KPIs and deliver excellent customer service
