We're hiring a Collateral Management Analyst for one of our clients, an investment bank based in Montreal.

The Role

Our client, a leading Global Investment Bank located in Montreal, is looking for a motivated Collateral Management Analyst to join their dynamic operations team. This is a central role supporting diverse business lines across Capital Markets and Financing through technology-driven and agile approaches.

Core Missions

  • Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operational services, ensuring the control and security of transaction processing for Capital Markets and Credit operations.
  • Lifecycle Support: Provide full lifecycle support for transactions, including KYC processing and client relationship management.
  • Risk Mitigation: Reduce counterparty risk by negotiating and administering collateral annex provisions for master agreements (Derivatives, Repo, Securities Lending, Clearing, etc.).
  • Exposure Monitoring: Monitor exposure levels versus collateral balances across multiple asset classes (Equities, Rates, FX, Credit, Commodities, Fixed Income).
  • Financial Processing: Instruct margin calls, calculate interest, and process payment/receive orders in strict accordance with legal documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact daily with Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams on a global scale.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process efficiencies, automate workflows, and contribute to regulatory projects.

Profile Required

  • Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally within Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of collateral management documentation (CSAs, MSFTAs, MRAs). Familiarity with industry-standard collateral platforms is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
