Business Analyst / Technology Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst / Technology Analyst to join our dynamic team within a leading hedge fund environment. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units to gather, analyze, and document requirements for trading, risk management, and compliance systems.
• Design and develop dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker to visualize key performance indicators and operational metrics.
• Manage projects utilizing Agile methodologies to deliver timely solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration from various sources such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Linked Data repositories.
• Write and maintain scripts in Python, R, Bash (Unix shell), and VBA to automate data workflows and enhance analytical capabilities.
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis using SQL queries and analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist in database design and management to ensure data integrity, security, and scalability.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders through clear documentation using Visio and other visualization tools.
• Support ongoing analytics initiatives by leveraging Talend for data integration tasks and Oracle databases for storage solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending innovative technology solutions aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Technology Analyst within a hedge fund or financial services environment.
• Strong proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and other visualization platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Agile project management methodologies.
• Deep understanding of SDLC processes in a financial technology context.
• Expertise in ETL development using Talend or similar tools; familiarity with RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Programming skills in Python, R, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), with an emphasis on automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of database design principles combined with excellent SQL skills for complex querying.
• Familiarity with Linked Data concepts for integrating diverse data sources.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets accurately.
• Experience working with data integration tools like Talend; understanding of database security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively across technical teams and business units.

$140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
