About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team across multiple regions
  • Drive revenue growth by achieving and exceeding sales targets and market share goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, procurement leaders, distributors, and regulatory bodies
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other internal teams to ensure effective market execution
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical sales practices
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine strategy
  • Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
  • Represent the business at industry events and conferences

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 7–10 years’ experience in MedTech, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare industries
  • 8–12+ years’ experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or related sectors
  • 5–7 years in a national or senior sales leadership role
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding national sales targets
  • Experience in field sales, including territory and key account management
  • Strong understanding of both public and private healthcare sectors in South Africa

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SAHPRA, SAMED, POPIA)

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the Fourways office
  • Up to 30% travel (national and occasional international)
  • Company vehicle provided (subject to driving record checks)
