Peraton is hiring a Naval Structures Modeling Engineer to do the following:
- Support the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division.
- Candidate will work with Finite Element Modeling / Finite Element Analysis (FEM/FEA) tools to support ongoing research into the acoustics of US Navy platforms.
- Significant portion of responsibilities will involve generation and test of FEM model meshes of complex Naval structures using commercial FEM tools.
- Additional efforts will include running FEA tools, generating results, and assisting Government SMEs in analysis of the FEA results.
Candidate will work within a Government - Contractor team performing multiple projects concurrently. A successful candidate must be a self-starter able to communicate with multiple teams, set and adjust priorities and schedules, and deliver results per schedule.
Requirements
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA
- Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Modeling. Must have experience defining model meshes of complex structures
- Demonstrated experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus
- DoD SECRET Clearance
