About
IKAPA CONSORTIUM is seeking an experienced and driven NDT Division Manager to lead and expand our Gauteng operations. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day division performance, client relationships, project execution, technician management, quality compliance, and business development across power generation, petrochemical, fabrication, mining, and industrial sectors.
This role requires both operational leadership and commercial awareness. The candidate must be capable of managing active projects while growing the division strategically.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Manage and coordinate NDT projects across Gauteng and surrounding regions
- Oversee planning, scheduling, manpower allocation, and project execution
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to client specifications
- Manage emergency call-outs and shutdown/project requirements when required
- Assist with technical problem-solving and client support
Client & Business Development
- Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships
- Identify and secure new business opportunities
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and technical clarification meetings
- Prepare or assist with quotations, tenders, and project proposals
- Represent IKAPA professionally within the industry
Technical & Quality Oversight
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, procedures, and client specifications
- Ensure quality documentation and reporting are completed correctly
- Oversee technician competency, reporting standards, and field execution
- Support implementation and maintenance of QMS and SHEQ systems
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and client site requirements
Team Leadership
- Lead and support NDT technicians and project personnel
- Assist with mentoring, discipline, and performance management
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture within the division
- Coordinate training and development where required
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Level II certification in one or more NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, UTM, ET or PAUT)
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial NDT operations
- Previous supervisory or management experience within NDT or inspection services
- Strong understanding of industrial shutdowns, fabrication, maintenance, and inspection environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, reporting systems, scheduling)
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Willingness to travel and attend sites when required
Advantageous
- Multi-method certifications
- Experience within Eskom, Sasol, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Marine, or Pressure Equipment sectors
- Knowledge of ASME, API, SANS, ISO, and related inspection standards
- Experience with tendering and quotation preparation
- Existing industry/client relationships in Gauteng
