About
Work in a mission-critical role as a SRE L3 Network Engineer in the Network Services team responsible for day-to-day technical and service oversight of the regional Network.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across the network environment specifically across operational activities, major incidents, and problem management, but also across review and advisory activities for implementation projects
- Work with the architecture, engineering, capabilities owners/managers, vendor management and service providers’ teams to onboard new products and represent operations as required to ensure acceptance into service is successfully delivered
- Work closely with IT leadership to make a real impact in terms of production stability, continuous service improvement and best practice sharing across the environment
Qualifications
- Rich Hands-on experience of implementing of respective Routing & Switching solutions OEM mainly on Cisco and HP-ARUBA.
- Good understanding and Hands on Routing technologies like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP etc.
- Good hands on ARUBA AP like 340/300/207/2xx/3xx and controllers like 72xx.
- Good hands on AIRWAVE and CLEARPASS.
- Good Understanding and Hands on Switching technologies like STP, RSTP, VLAN's, VPC, link-aggregation etc
- An L3 Aruba WLAN Design and Deployment involve designing, implementing, and maintaining Aruba wireless networks.
- This includes understanding client needs, conducting site surveys, designing WLAN coverage, configuring Aruba controllers and access points, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security policies.
Aruba Technologies
- Aruba Mobility Controllers: These controllers are essential for managing APs and providing centralized control over the WLAN, including routing and traffic prioritization.
- Aruba Central: A cloud-based management platform that simplifies deployment, configuration, and monitoring of Aruba WLANs, including Layer 3 routing.
Deployment Models
- Controller-based: This model uses Aruba Mobility Controllers for managing APs and implementing Layer 3 routing.
- Controllerless (Aruba Instant): While not as advanced as controller-based, Aruba Instant offers a simplified deployment option with limited Layer 3 routing capabilities.
Network Design Considerations
- Network Topology: Plan the physical layout of your network, including the placement of APs, controllers, and switches.
- Security Policies: Implement robust security measures, including authentication, encryption, and access control.
- Wireless Standards: Choose the appropriate 802.11 standards for your needs, considering speed, range, and security requirements.
- Traffic Prioritization: Implement traffic prioritization mechanisms to ensure that critical applications receive adequate bandwidth.
