Purpose

The principal purpose of the Network Engineer is to provide persistent support of the networked ecosystem of PayInc and provide consultancy support associated with the networked environment to PayInc clients. The Network Engineer also needs to produce simple network designs, architectures, network optimisation, and documentation covering voice, data, text, email, facsimile, and image. This may incorporate all aspects of the communications infrastructure, internal and external, mobile, public, and private, Internet/Intranet. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for high-level problem resolution and network security policy implementation and monitoring. It is a position that demands that the incumbent display a good overall basic understanding of the following environments:

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a team ecosystem that supports a complex network design consisting of various vendor technologies.
  • Find solutions to malfunctions, while making sure that the designated computers and network equipment stay functional.
  • Assisting and managing the implementation of Complex Network Projects
  • Maintain Inventory records of all network-related equipment.
  • Performs and leads analysis, modifications, installations, testing, and implementing computer systems activities.
  • Analyse and manage the capacity of access network switches and router locations.
  • Introduction and enhancement of Network infrastructure solutions for new IP Services networks.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot Client Support requests received for issues related to any of PayInc’ s Production and Enterprise Services.
  • Build, control, and leverage key strategic stakeholder and industry relationships
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for a healthy supported networking system.
  • Manage and control individual and relevant intervention, project, and programming costs
  • Deliver on internal and external stakeholders requirements/SLA’s
  • Contribute and advise on BU Strategy
  • Deliver client or company-specific projects in line with company standards and in agreement with the line manager.
  • Meet and assist with risk management standards (ISO 31000) and ensure reporting and mitigation of all risks
  • Comply with all PCI & Audit requirements.
  • Provide input into all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are read, understood, and acknowledged.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications / Knowledge

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology
  • Certification in networking will be advantage – CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
  • Basic working knowledge of the Financial/Cloud Ecosystem
  • Excellent Technical and Non-Technical communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team and to be part of a team.

Experience

  • Good understanding in networking technologies, preferably cross platforms, i.e. security, routing and switching, voice, storage and cloud
  • Cross vendor highly recommended
  • Basic understanding in cloud computing - Deploys, debugs, and executes initiatives related to cloud computing
  • Good knowledge of the payments domain and understanding of payments process flow.
  • Minimum 3 to 6 years’ experience in related field
