Responsibilities

• Implementation and assurance of the complete lifecycle of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) in the data environment (Ethernet as well as Internet/VPN) for business customers
• Analysis and evaluation of impacts on deployed CPE hardware and firmware versions regarding end-of-life scenarios and security issues (as-is/to-be analysis)
• Evaluation of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) for relevance to existing solutions and products
• Derivation of technical action requirements and execution of quality and acceptance tests in Versatel's own test lab using the XRAY tool
• Identification and definition of suitable successor CPE models and definition of target firmware releases
• Further development of the CPE release dashboard to optimally support lifecycle management
• Further development and automation of CPE testing
• Conception and definition of requirements for the test lab environment
• Optimization of release and lifecycle processes
• Documentation of technical content

Profile

• Completed technical engineering master's degree or a comparable technical education
• Sound knowledge and practical experience in configuring Data CPEs on OSI Layer 2 and 3, ideally with manufacturers such as Cisco, RAD, Ekinops, and Lancom
• Experience in automation environments and scripting, e.g., with Ansible, Python, or comparable technologies
• Strong conceptual skills and analytical-structured thinking, combined with initiative, goal orientation, and assertiveness
• Structured, team-oriented, and conscientious way of working
• Ideally, professional experience in the telecommunications industry
• Very good German skills (at least B2 level) and good English skills
