Network Engineer - New Grad

Susquehanna International Group, LLP (SIG)

Bala Cynwyd · On-site Full-time 2d ago

About the role

Overview

As a Network Services team member, you will gain exposure to a large and complex network topology. We are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and providing support for the firm’s global enterprise network. Our mission is to continually evolve our network infrastructure and invest heavily in advancing our technology. Joining Network Services is the first step in building an engineering career with Susquehanna.

What sets us apart?

We want your input
In addition to troubleshooting issues across our environment, your job is to find innovative solutions to challenging problems. You will contribute in network design discussion and participate in solution implementations. And you will help shape the future of our network monitoring and configuration management products.

Exposure to a variety of tech

At Susquehanna, we use a diverse set of technologies to ensure we are operating in the most optimal way. You will gain exposure to a multitude of different technologies including WAN, LAN, Enterprise and Carrier Networking. During team rotations you will partner with senior engineers and technical leads to work a wide array of projects. Projects will start with basic operational tasks; as your skills grow you will be working in tandem to develop innovative solutions that you will deploy company wide.

We collaborate

Our team actively collaborates with itself, other technologists, and business teams. The best network is created by understanding its demands. It is crucial in our environment to work together so we can coordinate configuration changes, identify root‑cause analysis, recommend network optimizations, and participate in firm‑wide projects including upgrading and implementing new hardware and software.

Hands on Learning

At Susquehanna, you learn the most by doing. With guidance and mentoring from your team, you’ll get hands‑on experience beginning on your first day. Spend some time in the lab and test out new configurations before implementing firm wide! You will gain knowledge and hands on experience across our infrastructure through rotations with our Networking Engineers as well as opportunities to participate with our other services teams that focus in Security, Windows, Linux, Virtual, Storage, and DevOps teams.

What we’re looking for

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or a similar technical major
  • Experience in LAN network support, specifically troubleshooting OSI Layer 1‑3 problems – network switching experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network hardware, local area networks, internet protocols, fiber and copper wiring standards, Ethernet, and wireless technologies
  • Scripting and DevOps experience (in Python, Ansible, Git) is highly preferred.
