Network Engineering Manager (hands on) - 100% onsite

Skills And Experience Required

• Experience configuring, managing and maintaining enterprise Network Infrastructure with the following:
  • Arista Core Network Switches
  • Cisco Core Network Switches
  • Fortinet Firewalls and Switches
• Experience establishing monitoring strategy for network performance across 650+ external sites.
• Provide confident, experienced hands on troubleshooting of complex network issues across SD-WAN sites, Corporate offices, remote locations and BGP configured data centers.
• Ability to demonstrate advanced level knowledge of routing and switching protocols and concepts.
• Ability to identify areas of improvement within a legacy network and articulating it to staff and management
• Experiencing managing and leading a team of senior to junior level network engineers and administrators.
• Experience managing technology vendors and manufacturers
• Experience in hardware inventory lifecycle management
• Experience managing large scale cross functional efforts.
• Experience with planning and executing projects.
• Experience managing technical debt.
• Experience supporting an environment with strict security standards.
• Security minded operational approach.
• Experience with organizational transformations both procedurally and technically.
• Ability to get staff engaged and motivated.

Typical Duties

• Manage risk for the infrastructure, business and staff.
• Provide technical and procedural guidance to staff.
• Manage the day to day execution of the Network team from break-fix, maintenance and projects.
• Maintains overall compliance with information security policies and procedures.
• Represents IT s interests and concerns on complex projects through the lifecycle of a project, and escalates concerns to management as necessary.
• Works closely with cross functional departments to ensure systems requests are properly addressed.
• Work with cross functional teams to solve problems and deliver solutions.
• Champions development and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures for staff.
• Seek out areas of improvement within the infrastructure and execute plans to address them.
• Champion, develop and maintain documentation necessary to managing the infrastructure.
• Available for management escalations of hours and weekends.
• Mentor and train Jr. level engineers and administrators.

Other Qualifications Desired:

Technical Certifications:

• Certifications in any of the following; CCNA, CCIE, ITIL or other relevant technology engineering certifications.

Education:

• Bachelor s degree (B.A.), technology trade school or relevant training programs.
• 5 years related experience in tier 1 systems architecture, implementation, support and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
