About the role
Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their innovative team. This fully remote position is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust network infrastructure that powers their services. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of their network systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to the architecture of future network solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage complex network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN/LAN components.
- Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks or issues, implementing proactive solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance problems for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect against threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators and software developers, to ensure seamless integration.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance capabilities.
- Participate in capacity planning and network scalability initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and support for network-related projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and security vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).
- Proficiency in network security concepts and tools (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote team.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
